摘要：

By an analysis of the changes in rim heights of lunar craters through isostatic settling, combined with inferences from counts of small impact craters contained within and subsequent to large craters, it is concluded that: (1) the maria are not older than about 640 million years; and (2) the flux of masses which produced craters larger than 160 km in diameter reached a peak rate at a maximum age of about 2.5 billion years ago, and not very early in the Moon's history as has usually been thought. © 1970.
