摘要
Carbon-13 NMR was employed to determine the chemical structures of the cell-wall β-glucans isolated from a wild-type and a mutant strain of yeast. The results illustrate distinct differences in frequency and average length of the β(1-6)-glycosidic branching of the glucans. The higher frequency of β(1-6) branching in the mutant strain is consistent with the result of previous enzyme digestion experiments correlating the degree of hydrolysis with the frequency of the β(1-6) linkage. © 1990.
