THEORY FOR EXCITON EFFECTS ON LIGHT-ABSORPTION SPECTRA OF FCC TYPE C-60 CRYSTAL

摘要
Optical absorption spectra of a f.c.c, type C-60 crystal are theoretically studied by using an extended Hubbard model, so as to clarify exciton effects. The ground and excited states are calculated within the Hartree-Fock approximation reinforced by the first-order perturbation of electron-hole attractions. The spectral intensity around the region 2.5-2.8eV is shown to be enhanced greatly by the effect of inter-molecular charge-transfer exciton. These results are in good agreement with experiments.
