摘要
1. 1. The metabolism of glucose was compared with that of fructose, mannose and galactose in the mosquito Aedes sollicitans. 2. 2. Precursor-product relationships were determined by injection into the hemolymph of a massive dose of two sugars: a labeled precursor and an unlabeled presumed intermediate. 3. 3. Trehalose is not an intermediate in the utilization of hexoses for glycogen synthesis and respiration. 4. 4. Glucose is not an intermediate between fructose, mannose or galactose and the products trehalose and glycogen. 5. 5. The efficiency of fructose, mannose and galactose as a precursor for trehalose and glycogen is not diminished by glucose. 6. 6. Injected glucose-6-phosphate is hydrolyzed and is not the immediate precursor of trehalose. © 1969.
