摘要
Naturally occurring sunflower (Helianthus annuus)populations of wet and mesic areas in the Baker Wetlands Research Tract were analyzed for a third time in 1977. Alcohol dehydrogenase gene frequencies were found to have shifted further, maintaining a trend observed in 1973 and 1974. The frequency of the Early allele of Adh-1 was lower in 1977 than in the previous years. Plant height, number and size of heads, and seeds per head data in 1977 were comparable to data of previous years. It remains unknown why the Early allele was in higher frequency in the wet than dry area populations in 1977 as had also been observed in previous years. © 1979 American Genetic Association.
