摘要
The random network model (RNM) allows a very simple, yet quantitative estimate of the entropy of liquid water and amorphous solid water. The vibrational and proton disorder contributions are calculated using the prescriptions of the RNM described elsewhere, while the remaining configurational term is calculated using phase space arguments and an appeal to the third law of thermodynamics. The agreement between predicted and observed values of the entropy of the liquid at 0 and 100°C is excellent. © 1980 American Institute of Physics.
