摘要
Recently new types of high-performance aramid fibre based on poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide) have been developed. This paper reports on their very different tensile behaviour and structural character as revealed by electron microscope and X-ray diffraction studies. The relationship between mechanical performance and structure of the variants is explored in detail, and performance-limiting factors are identified with a view to understanding how further improvements in properties may be achieved. © 1990 Chapman and Hall Ltd.
