ANALYSIS OF BAND PROFILES IN RAMAN-SPECTRA OF AN AQUEOUS DISPERSION OF SPHINGOMYELIN

摘要
Raman spectra were obtained for an aqueous dispersion of the phospholipid sphingomyelin at temperatures in the range 22.5-47.0.degree. C. A band profile analysis identifies 7 individual bands between 1000-1400 cm-1. Changes in the intensity of the various components in this region are used to interpret the structural changes that occur when aqueous dispersons of sphingomyelin undergo an order-disorder transition.
