摘要
An axisymmetric finite element analysis has been carried out to study the effect of interfacial conditions on the properties of discontinuous fibre composites. The interface has been modelled through a finite thickness layer surrounding the fibre. The different interfacial conditions have been simulated by assigning different property values to the interfacial layer. The study has been performed through a single fibre model but it has been possible to take into account the interaction between fibres by appropriately selecting the boundary conditions. Results have been presented to establish the influence of interfacial conditions on load transfer length, critical interaction length, elastic modulus of the composite and composite strength. © 1979.
