GROWTH OF TUMOUR CELLS IN DIFFUSION CHAMBERS ON CHICK CHORIOALLANTOIS

Various murine tumour cells have been shown to proliferate rapidly in diffusion chambers implanted on the chick chorioallantois. The cultured tumour cells retain their capacity to kill mice of certain strains. Although these tumour cells can be grown in vitro, the diffusion chamber method is easy to carry out, requires no special tissue culture media and may be suitable for the growth of tumour cells from a variety of species. © 1969.
