THE LOCAL MIXING MODEL WITH SPUTTERING REDEPOSITION AND PROJECTILE-IMPLANTED ATOM INTERACTION

摘要
A previously discussed local mixing model (LMM) accurately describes the buildup of implanted hydrogen to saturation concentration and subsequent isotope exchange for implantation into a variety of materials of interest to the fusion community. In the present paper we extend the LMM to include the effects of sputtering (surface erosion), the interactions of implanted projectiles with previously implanted atoms, and the effects which arise from simultaneous implantations of other materials. Particular emphasis is placed on the redeposition of original substrate material which may have originated by erosion at a distant site or at an earlier time in the normal course of reactor operation. These extensions of the LMM are accomplished through the use of MEAS and do not represent any alteration of the fundamental notions of the original simple version of LMM.
