POLARIZATION OF RADIO-SOURCES AT LAMBDA-49 CM AND LAMBDA-73 CM

Measurements are presented of the flux density at λ 73 cm and the linear polarization at λ 49 and λ 73 cm of extragalactic sources, mostly quasars. These measurements establish the degree to which the linear polarization decreases at long wavelengths. Evidence is presented that the depolarization does not occur in the galactic halo. Little or no depolarization seems to occur in radio variables. The polarization at λ 49 cm of two sources (3C 454.3 and BL Lac) may have changed over a period of one year. © 1972 Royal Astronomical Society. Provided by the NASA Astrophysics Data System.
