AMORPHIZATION AND RECRYSTALLIZATION OF YBA2CU3O7-X BY ION-IMPLANTATION AND ANNEALING

Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy (RBS), and resistivity measurements are reported for implanted and annealed YBa2Cu3O7-x films and YBa2Cu3O7-x/PrBa2Cu3O7-x bilayers, demonstrating the complete recovery of superconductivity by low oxygen pressure annealing. The strong anisotropy in recrystallization between the a(perpendicular-to) and c(perpendicular-to) orientations and the effects of high supersaturation are discussed, as well as the implications for device applications.
