摘要
Single crystals of Rb2S5 and Rb2Se5 were obtained by the reaction of the elements in the molar ratio 2:5 in liquid ammonia at about 450 K and pressure of 50 and 500 bar, respectively. The substances crystallize both orthorhombic, space group P212121 (No 19). Unit cell constants are: Rb2S5: a = 683.7(1) pm, b= 1784.5(3) pm, c = 663.3(1) pm; Rb2Se5: a = 713.5(1) pm, b = 1829.9(2) pm, c = 691.0(1) pm. The structures contain unbranched [FORMULA OMITTED]-chains of chalcogene polyanions. The S —S(Se —Se) distances range from 201.9(7) pm to 210.9(7) pm (231(2) pm to 237(2) pm); the bond angles are 107.5(3)°, 109.5(3)°, and 111.2(3)° (104.5(6)°, 108.0(5)°, and 109.1(5)°). © by Akademische Verlagsgesellschaft, Wiesbaden 1979
