MULTICOMPONENT ANALYSIS OF HIGHLY OVERLAPPED HPLC PEAKS USING MULTIWAVELENGTH DIODE-ARRAY DETECTION

摘要
A new method for the treatment of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) data allowing the resolution of extensively overlapped peaks was developed. The method relies on the use of a diode array spectrophotometer and treatment of the generated data by least-squares linear regression. The applicability of the proposed method was checked on phenol mixtures. Because of the nature of the computational procedure, the results obtained depend neither on retention times nor on the shape or degree of overlap of the chromatographic peaks. The chief limitations of the proposed method are high degrees of spectral overlap and the need to know every co-eluting component. © 1992, Oxford University Press.
