VOLUMETRIC ACCURACY ANALYSIS BASED ON GENERALIZED GEOMETRIC ERROR MODEL IN MULTIAXIS MACHINE-TOOLS

摘要
A new volumetric accuracy analysis method in multi-axis machine tools is developed based on the generalized geometric error models. The models of translation and rotational errors of each axis, and squareness errors between two axes are derived by using 4*4 homogeneous transformation matrices based on the assumption of small angle approximation. The developed geometric error models account for volumetric errors due to inaccuracies in the geometry and mutual relationships of the machine tool structure. Some simulation studies on volumetric accuracy of multi-axis machine were carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed geometric error models. © 1991.
