摘要：

Directional drilling has been highly ideal for seeking oil and gas as well as capturing geothermal energy in the form of steam or hot water. In addition, environmentalists and firms in the hazardous-waste business that investigate and clean up buried pollutants also found directional drilling attractive. Contractors that lay service cables below congested urban areas have also incorporated directional drilling to accomplish their tasks.
