摘要
The hydrolysis of acetylsalicylic acid and the oxidative‐phosphorylation uncoupling activity of salicylic acid and acetylsalicylic acid in rat liver mitochondrial preparations at pH 7.4 and 25° have been studied. The rate of hydrolysis of acetylsalicylic acid in mitochondrial preparations under these conditions is fairly slow. The uncoupling activity observed in the presence of acetylsalicylic acid is due to the salicylic acid produced during the experiment. The results obtained in the present study support some recent findings on the effect of salicylates on several other biologic activities. Copyright © 1969 Wiley‐Liss, Inc., A Wiley Company
