SELF-DIFFUSION AND SOLUTE DIFFUSION OF LANTHANUM HOLMIUM AND INDIUM IN BCC PRASEODYMIUM

摘要
The thin layer sectioning technique has been used to measure the self-diffusion and solute diffusion coefficients of lanthanum, holmium and indium in body-centred cubic praseodymium. The diffusivities can be expressed as: Self-diffusion of Pr D = 8.7 × 10−2 exp (−29400/RT) cm2/sec. Solute diffusion of La D = 1.8 × 10−2 exp (−25700/RT) cm2/sec. Solute diffusion of Ho D = 9.5 × 10−3 exp (−26300/RT) cm2/sec. Solute diffusion of In D = 9.6 × 10−2 exp (−28900/RT) cm2/sec. The relatively low activation energy and high self-diffusion coefficients in praseodymium were interpreted as indicating that this metal should be classified among the anomalous b.c.c. metals. © 1969 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
