ORDERING OF C-60 ON ANISOTROPIC SURFACES

摘要
Based on our experimental observation of the uniaxial incommensurate C-60 superlattices formed on Ge(100) and Si(100) surfaces, we show that the balance between the attractive and repulsive intermolecular forces plays the leading role in the ordering of a van der Waals overlayer on anisotropic substrates. A phenomenological expression for the superlattice parameters is derived and shown to be in good agreement with the experiments.
