SPECTROSCOPIC STUDY OF PT-MGO CATALYSTS PREPARED BY THE SOL-GEL METHOD

摘要
Platinum catalysts supported in magnesia were synthesized with magnesium ethoxide and hexachloroplatinic acid by the sol-gel method at different pH. They were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy, UV-Vis (diffuse reflectance), XRD, DTA and TGA. It was observed that the largest BET area corresponded to catalysts prepared at pH 7 and the strongest metal-support interaction (MSI) was observed in catalysts prepared at pH 3. The MSI occurs through the superficial hydroxyl groups.
