SENSITIVITY OF 4 FINGER SWEAT PRINT DURATIONS TO AN ANTICHOLINERGIC AGENT

Four durations of finger sweat prints (FSPs) were compared for their relative sensitivity to atropine sulfate in a double‐blind study with 24 normal volunteers. The statistically significant results indicate: 1) FSPs within a wide range of duration are sensitive indicators of treatment effects; 2) however, shorter durations are clearly superior to longer ones in sensitivity; and 3) there can be greater flexibility in the use of this technique since length of the measurement period can now be more appropriately determined by experimental requirements rather than by an a priori standard.
