NMR OF PHOSPHORUS COMPOUNDS DOUBLE QUANTUM TRANSITIONS IN ANALYSIS OF PMR SPECTRA OF TRI-2-THIENYLPHOSPHINE AND ITS SULPHIDE

摘要
The 60 MHz PMR spectra of tri-2-thienylphosphine and its sulphide are reported. The energy level diagrams for these ABCX spin systems have been assigned from double quantum transitions and used in an iterative computer analysis of the spectra. For both compounds the 1H31P spin coupling constants all have the same sign. A remarkable difference between the magnitudes of JPH(5) in the phosphine and its sulphide has been observed, the values being JPH(5) = 0.33 Hz and JPH(5) = 4.39 Hz, respectively. © 1969.
