SOLUBILITY AND VOLUME DIFFUSION OF NICKEL IN TUNGSTEN AT 1640-DEGREES-C

摘要
Liquid phase sintering and related processes can, under certain experimental conditions, lead to microstructures which allow the accurate measurement of solubilities and diffusivities by means of an electron microprobe. In this paper W-Ni specimens sintered at 1640°C were used to determine for the first time the diffusion coefficient of Ni in W as D = 6 × 10-11 cm2 s-1. The solubility of Ni in W could be measured with better accuracy than was previously possible and was found to be 0.15 wt.%. © 1979.
