摘要
Originally CONSYD was developed to meet the twin demands of education and academic research. Thus emphasis in its development was placed both on ease of use and the incorporation of the most modern techniques. The result is a package which is uniquely suited to a wide range of users in the chemical industry. Besides conventional control techniques, it includes capacities of interest to chemical engineers such as the ability to work with systems containing time delays, non-linear systems, and an emphasis on frequency domain techniques where sensitivity and robustness analysis techniques exist. At the same time it still maintains the ease of use which is necessary for educational situations. This paper describes the philosophy that went into the design and construction of CONSYD, and briefly reviews the capabilities it offers.
