MAGNETIC ANISOTROPY AND MAGNETOSTRICTION OF Y3MNO.1FE4.9012 AT 300 DEGREES K

摘要
The compound Y3Mn0.1Fe4.9O12 has been prepared in powdered and sintered forms and characterized by lattice constant, electrical resistivity and, in particular, hysteresis loop and ferrimagnetic resonance linewidth. The results of these investigations indicate little change in the unit- cell dimensions or resistivity as compared with pure Y3Fe5O12, but show a reduction in the magnitude of the first-order magnetic anisotropy constant K1, and reversal in sign of magnetostrictive properties. These latter results are supported by the measurements on single-crystal specimens of the same compositions. From microscope and electron microprobe analyses of a polished section, no evidence of second phase was detected. © 1969.
