ELECTROCHEMICAL OXIDATION OF VACUUM-DEPOSITED CARBAZOLE - PREPARATION AND FILM PROPERTIES

摘要
Carbazole film vacuum-deposited on an electrode was electrochemically oxidized. The resultant film was characterized by IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy, X-ray, SEM and cyclic voltammetry. The oxidized film has a surface roughness of several microns, and consists of a nearly amorphous doped polymer with cation radical and/or dication moieties. The electrical conductivity (in the order of 10-5 S/cm) and redox behavior differ greatly from those of the sample prepared in solution. The effect of the fixed molecular arrangement and other factors on these characteristics is discussed. © 1990.
