SCINTIGRAPHIC FINDINGS IN A CASE OF LYMPHANGIOLEIOMIOMATOSIS

Lymphangioleiomiomatosis is a rare disease occurring in women of reproductive age. It is characterized by progressive proliferation of smooth muscle in the lung, causing airway obstruction and creating constrictions that develop into cysts. Lesions are diffusely distributed throughout the lungs. The scintigraphic findings in a 37-year-old woman presenting with severe dyspnea are reported. The diagnosis of pulmonary lymphangioleiomiomatosis was subsequently established by means of high- resolution CT. The patient was scheduled for tung transplant.
