摘要
By means of transmission electron microscopy, electron diffraction and nuclear magnetic resonance, it is shown that the nominal rock-salt structure of single crystal vanadium carbide is modified substantially by carbon vacancy ordering. At a carbon/metal atom ratio of 0·84 the material is hexagonal (trigonal), corresponding to an ordered compound V6C5, and contains a superlattice and domains. The ordered structure is described and the formation of the domains is interpreted in terms of the structure. © 1968, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
