PHOTOPRODUCTION OF ETA MESONS BELOW 2.0 GEV IN GENERALISED INTERFERENCE MODEL

The generalised interference model is used to fit the available data on eta photoproduction. Using only Reggeized ω and B exchange in the t-channel and the S11(1510) and P11(1750) resonances in the direct channel, an extremely good representation of the data is obtained up to 1.6 GeV photon lab energy. To explain the data in the region of 2 GeV photon lab energy it is necessary to invoke either an additional exchange term or an additional resonance, the latter being the simpler of the two. © 1969.
