SYNTHESIS OF TRANSITION-METAL PHOSPHIDES FROM THEIR OXIDES USING THE CHEMICAL-TRANSPORT (CVT) METHOD

摘要
Phosphides of the composition MP (MZr, Hf, Nb, Ta, W) and M3P4 (MTh, U) have been prepared by reduction of the respective metal oxides with aluminium adding phosphorus and some iodine in an evacuated silica ampoule. Well developed crystals of the metal phosphides could be separated from the reaction mixture by subsequent chemical transport in the synthesis- ampoule. © 1990.
