A new generalized method for rapid determination of the terminal free settling parameters of spherical particles in shear-thinning power law fluids has been proposed. On the basis of experimental data published elsewhere and the authors' own results, general plots have been obtained. These plots, together with the equations presented, permit the computation of the unknown parameters, such as the terminal free settling velocity or settling diameter, which characterize the steady motion of spherical particles in the power law fluids.
