摘要
The flooding phenomenon in aerated turbine-agitated vessels was studied. A method for determining the onset of flooding from turbulence measurements with a hot-film anemometer was developed and proved applicable to air-water systems. The following correlation between the critical impeller speed N//F, impeller diameter D and gas flow rate Q according to the definition of flooding by J. H. Rushton et al. was obtained: N//FD**1**. **8/Q**0**. **3 equals 0. 54. This correlation can be used to determine the lower limit of operation when designing or scaling-up an aerated agitated vessel.
