摘要
Consider an equation y = f(x1,...,x(n)) where the extension principle is used to find YBAR = f(XBAR1,...,XBAR(n)) when we substitute fuzzy numbers XBAR(i) for the x(i), 1-less-than-or-equal-to-i-less-than-or-equal-to-n. If XBAR(i)(alpha) denotes an alpha-cut of XBAR(i), then we argue that, for only certain simple equations, will one obtain YBAR(alpha) equal to f(XBAR1(alpha),..., XBAR(n)(alpha)) where f is evaluated using interval arithmetic.
