摘要
Impurity effects of In3+ and Cr3+ On the electronic states of the high temperature phase of Fe3O4 have been investigated by means of Mossbauer spectroscopy. The effects of the impurities were negligible for the A-site spectrum, whereas they were obvious for the B-site spectrum. We have classified the B-site Fe into several components taking account of the number of neighboring impurity ions as well as the angle between the direction of the hyperfine field and the principal axis of the electric field gradient. From the isomer shift and the hyperfine held, it was disclosed that the B-site Fe ions around the impurities attract electrons. The enlargement of quadrupole interaction below room temperature for In-substitution seems to correspond the enhancement of local lattice distortion or polaron.
