摘要
This paper describes a particle detector in the shape of a segment of a spherical shell. When used as a detector element in a charged particle telescope and with an isotropic source of particles (as in interplanetary space) the geometrical factor of the telescope may be two to four times that obtained from a telescope using the same diameter plane circular detectors. In addition, improved resolution over the plane circular detector results because of less variation in relative path lenght for particles of various angles of incidence traversing the detector. Li-drifted silicon detectors of this shape have been fabricated with electrical and particle characteristics identical to flat wafer detectors. © 1969.
