摘要
The Belousov-Zhabotinskii (BZ) oscillating reaction was investigated in a closed system. The rate of carbon dioxide evolution, as well as its total amount, the decrease of oxidizing power, the induction time, and the period time were measured as a function of the metal ion catalyst and the main reactants, bromate ion and malonic acid. The experimental data were compared to computations done on the basis of an improved Oregonator. Empirical and calculated dependencies of the measured quantities on the concentrations of the reactants are given. It is seen that the mechanism predicts most of the experimental data, in some cases even quantitatively. © 1979 American Chemical Society.
