CHARGED-PARTICLE POTENTIAL SCATTERING IN THE SIMULTANEOUS PRESENCE OF A MAGNETIC AND A LASER FIELD

摘要
Charged-particle scattering by a potential V(r) in the simultaneous presence of a quantising magnetic field and a laser field, both directed along the z axis, is studied in first-order time-dependent perturbation theory. Transition probabilities and scattering cross sections are found to exhibit resonant behaviour at the zeros of Ki2+2m(n i-nf) omega c/h(cross)+2ml omega 0/h(cross), where Ki is the wavenumber of the free motion (along z) in the initial state, ni and nf the principal quantum numbers of the initial- and final-state Landau levels, omega c the cyclotron frequency, l=0, +or-1, and +or-2,..., and omega 0 the laser field frequency.
