摘要
A membrane microreactor is proposed for the assessment of the internal diffusion limitations in yeast flocs. The device was used with a Kluyveromyces marxianus strain flocculating in the presence either of calcium ions or of a flocculation additive. Decreases in specific lactose uptake rates as compared with the specific lactose uptake rate for non-flocculating cells confirmed the existence of internal diffusion limitations. The microreactor proved to be useful when comparing flocculation additives. © 1990.
