ISOBARIC HEAT-CAPACITY DATA FOR LIQUID HCFC-123 (CHCL2CF3, 2,2-DICHLORO-1,1,1-TRIFLUOROETHANE)

The isobaric heat capacity, C(p), of liquid 2,2-dichloro-1,1,1-trifluoroethane (CHCl2CF3, HCFC-123), which is a promising alternative to CFC-11, has been measured by using flow calorimetry. The values of 80 C(p) have been determined in the range of temperatures from 275.65 to 440 K and pressures from 0.5 to 3.2 MPa, respectively. The overall uncertainties of the determined C(p) values are concluded to be less than +/- 0.4% for temperatures below 420 K, +/- 0.5% at 430 K, +/- 0.8% at 440 K, respectively. The C(p) data have been correlated with a function of temperature and pressure within +/- 0.4%, and the C(p) of saturated liquid, C(p)', have been derived from the correlation.
