TOP SEEDED GROWTH OF KTIOPO4 FROM MOLTEN TUNGSTATE SOLUTION

摘要
We report here the top-seeded solution growth of KTiOPO4 crystals from the K2O-P2O5-TiO2-WO3 system. KTiOPO4 crystallizes as the single stable phase over the temperature range 930-700-degrees-C. Growth rates up to 0.9 mm/day could be used to grow optical quality crystals up to 30 x 22 x 20 mm3 in size. Transmission spectroscopy and second harmonic generation properties were measured. Results of topographical observations and etch experiments on crystal faces are also presented.
