摘要
1. 1. Aqueous humor assays for antibiotic activity were done at varying periods of time on experimental animals and patients receiving subconjunctival injections of penicillin G and streptomycin, streptomycin, chloramphenicol and ampicillin. 2. 2. Penicillin G and ampicillin penetrated aqueous humor in bacteriostatic amounts within 30 seconds. 3. 3. Chloramphenicol succinate and streptomycin did not penetrate aqueous humor in effective concentrations in these studies. 4. 4. Where prophylactic antibiotics are to be used subconjunctivally, ampicillin appears to be the drug of choice and should be given at the beginning of operation. © 1968.
