THEORETICAL-ANALYSIS OF HYSTERESIS DURING HYDROGEN TRANSFORMATIONS IN THE VANADIUM-HYDROGEN SYSTEM

摘要
The room temperature free energy losses during solid solution --> monohydride and monohydride --> dihydride transformations in the V-H system have been theoretically evaluated, based on different hysteresis theories, and compared with experimental values in the literature. The theoretical plastic accommodation energy obtained for the solid solution --> monohydride transformation is in good agreement with the experimental values. The theoretical hysteresis losses, obtained based on different theories of hysteresis, have also been compared and discussed. The hysteresis losses can be best explained by considering irreversible plastic accommodation processes during hydrogen transformations in the V-H system.
