A MATHEMATICAL-MODEL OF AN ABSORPTION TOWER OF NITROGEN-OXIDES IN NITRIC-ACID PRODUCTION

摘要
A mathematical model for the simulation of the steady-state operation of absorption plate tower in nitric acid production is presented. The model is deterministic and is based on mass and energy balances and chemical equilibrium between gas and liquid. Simulation results are presented to elucidate effects of various process variables on the tower performance. In addition, the validity of the model was tested by comparing calculated results with measured values from an absorption tower producing 250 t HNO3/d. © 1979.
