摘要
The differential brightness of the night airglow spectrum has been measured at a spectral resolution of 27 Å between 1.02 μ and 1.13 μ. Both the (4-1) and (5-2) OH bands are completely resolved into P,Q, and R branches. Rotational temperatures of 240 ± 20°K and 220 ± 20°K respectively are obtained for the bands by comparison with synthetic spectra. Measurements of the branch intensity ratios for the (5-2) band leads to the conclusion that the Q branch is weaker than expected. Absolute brightness values, referred to the zenith, for the (4-1) and (5-2) bands are 6.7 ± 0.5 kR and 7.3 ± 0.6 kR. © 1969.
