摘要
The critical properties of the 2-D Heisenberg ferromagnet with planar (XY) anisotropy in a weak symmetry sustaining (z) field have been studied through quasi-elastic neutron scattering and magnetometry experiments on the quasi-2D ferromagnet Rb2CrCl4, and through Monte Carlo (MC) simulations of a comparable purely 2D system. A critical line has been detected in the temperature-field phase diagram. The general trend predicted by the MC calculations is confirmed experimentally.
