摘要
The transfer of an amyloid‐accelerating substance in several different mouse strains is described. The relative ease of transfer was strain‐dependent. Nitrogen mustard enhanced amyloid deposition but was not necessary in one strain. Liver and lung as well as spleen cell suspensions and subcellular fractions from mice treated with casein were able to transfer the amyloid‐promoting material. Endotoxin may be used interchangeably with casein for the induction of amyloidosis in the donor mice with comparable transfer results. The possible mechanisms involved in “amyloid transfer” are discussed. Copyright © 1969 American College of Rheumatology
