摘要
Investigated the recall and recognition performance of 498 adults in 3 age groups (20-39, 40-59, and 60-80 yrs) following different orienting-task requirements. It was demonstrated that young and old adults are differentially affected by task requirements. The youngest group was disproportionately benefited by an orienting task that involved semantic processing. Results support the notion of an age-related processing deficit.
