THE METHYLATION OF TIN(II) CHLORIDE AND TIN(II) AMINO-ACID COMPLEXES BY METHYLCOBALAMIN

摘要
Tin(II) chloride and tin(II) amino acid complexes were methylated by methylcobalamin, under conditions of chloride ion concentrations and pH relevant to the natural environment. The methylation of tin(II) chloride was both pH and chloride dependent, but the methylation of tin(II) amino acid complexes was pH dependent only. The main identified product of all reactions was monomethyl tin, which was quantified, after hydride generation, by GC/FID and fully characterised by GC/MS.
