摘要
Growth of Cu-O chains and their ordering on Ag(110) surface were monitored by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). When Cu atoms were deposited on a (2 X 1) Ag-O/Ag(110) surface at room temperature, the Ag-O chains in the [001] direction diminished and new strings of Cu-O grew along the [110] direction and yield a (2 X 2) p2mg ordering. When a Ag(110) surface with coexisting Ag-O and Cu-O chains was exposed to CO at room temperature, the Ag-O chains were selectively reduced.
